Hummingbird Interactive (BC, Canada) develops narrative live/digital hybrid experiences. We focus on immersive storytelling with an emotional impact, and every production aims to be accessible to a wide audience, whether they are experienced digital consumers or not.
We’re slowly building a body of work that compasses VR, audio-only shows, site specific work and interactive installations. Our stories are inspired by stories and women from the past, like sci-fi writer Mary Shelley, song collector Lucy Broadwood and Ruth Ellis, the last woman to be hanged in the UK.
Hummingbird’s founder and creative director is Jedidjah Julia Noomen, who has an extensive background in theatre, live events and games.
Hummingbird’s projects have been supported by the Cannonball Festival stipend and Creative BC.
‘Utterly unique at this festival, ‘Last One Standing’ is a provocatively personal encounter that encourages the kind of inner reaction and genuine connection we rarely find time for.’ – Orlando Sentinel

‘I believe this show depicts the enormous potential of storytelling in VR.’ – Kingston Theatre Alliance Review on ‘Mary Shelley Lives Here’
